Dividing surrounding spaces into two categories—active and passive—through the use of contrast on the surface can serve as a starting point for a discussion on ‘holism.’ From this perspective, matter is nothing but condensed, structured energy molded into a specific form. In essence, matter is merely a manifestation of energy. Thus, it can be defined as a vessel for forces, while energy itself attains the status of an independent entity.

This perspective, along with a desire to explore the relationship between texture and surface and the distribution of energy within them, was the initial spark for this collection.
